If you’re using Google adwords for your pay-per-click campaign then you need to read this post on their official blog.
Google wants the landing pages (i.e. the pages that the ad opens on your website) to load quickly to ensure that users get the best experience from your site and can find the information they want without too much delay.
This is something I whole-heartedly agree with as a website design company and a subject I have mentioned previously in a blog about the size of webpages
What will Google do if your web pages are too large in size, is on a server that is slow, or that uses fancy tricks like multiple re-directs? They are going to introduce this into the keyword quality score mechanism so if your web-page is not lean and quick loading you will have to pay more for your minimum bids.
So it’s going to cost you more to advertise with Google. if your website is not up to scratch and has pages with too much unnecessary code, large and too many images or has slow web hosting.
It’s not just good practice to get your webpages tidied up and optimised for quick download because Google will charge you more if you dont, but quick pages will also improve the experience for visitors to your site and that’s got to be worth paying attention to.
